I've read what I could find. I'm still clueless. How do I call forward, or night call forward a hunt group?

Do I really have to use vectors? If so, where is a reference on vectors? Syntax? Commands?

You do not need to use vectors.

What you could do:

Set a NIGHT SERVICE DESTINATION on the first frame of the Hunt Group form. Give a station the NIGHT SERV button. When you press the NIGHT SERV button all hunt groups with a NIGHT SERVICE DESTINATION will redirect to their specified locations.

Or,

Give a phone console permissions. Call Forward the Hunt Group number to the desired destination. Calls to the Hunt Group will forward. Remember to unforward the Hunt Group when needed.

well, there is this little issue of a new Infinity answering service server involved. The way they are sending calls to it is simply not having the incoming called DN exist in the Avaya. All non-existent DN's get shipped out another trunk route, which is the PRI to the Infinity.

You cannot night call forward to an undefined DN in the Avaya. I fixed it though. And it was absurdly simple using vectoring with the following:

Programmed Vector 10 (chan vect 10)
1.Route-to number 1911 with cov no (1911 doesn't exist in the Avaya)

Then added the VDN (add vdn 2975)

Changed the hunt group's night service number to 2975.

Haven't tested it completely as it's 3:13pm (won't be able to until 5pm). But when I call 2975 it routes to 1911, which doesn't exist in the Avaya so gets shipped out the Infinity PRI by default, and since it does exist in that machine it gets answered by the answering service crew.

I think this is going to work. Hope so. Changing the hunt group DN manually at 5 everyday will get old, quick.

this might work

remember that a hunt-group always has cos 1

so if you do a list hunt or list extensions you can see cos/cor of hunt-group

to call-fwd a hunt group you need to have cos 1

i have searched for a system wide feature to be able to change the cos of a hunt group, wasnt able to change this

Well, it's Thursday morning now and I can tell you it worked for me. To see the different hunt groups do a "list hunt"

To determine available vector numbers do a "list vector".

In the above example I had no vectors so arbitrarily chose "10". I did a "chan(ge) vect(or)and set vector 10 as I stated above.

Then I did an "add VDN 2975" (2975 was the available number we decided to assign the vector). This is where you define which vector is assigned to the number, and I think you can override the group's COS and COR here as well.

It worked for my problem, which was to forward the calls to a 4 digit DN that wasn't defined (assigned) in the Avaya but was in the Infinity I wanted to forward the calls to at night. The PRI they would go to is an NI-2, but I don't know if it's classed as an internal or external span.

I haven't tried it with an "outside" number, but I'm going to bet it will work with that as well, maybe having to change the COS&COR depending on how your switch is programmed with respect to those call classes.

gergje", I just created a vector that routes to my cell phone. You can change the COR at the VDN (chan'nge' VDN <vdn number>), and I had to in order to call outside (called 9<10 digit phone number>). But it worked, so this may be an answer to your issue. Just look at one of your stations that can call outside numbers, see what it's COR is, and change the VDN's COR to the same.

I might add, in the vector programming the suffix "if unconditional" is added to the end of the string I quoted above in the first post.
