Hi People, I am trying to get the Caller ID for the forward to DN and no the forwarded DN.
System - Option 11C 5.0, E1, HMS400

I want to be able to forward or redirect calls from multiple phones to a DN which would go to HMS400, play a message / greeting and then the caller can leave a message in one mailbox. The issue is when the call is forwarded, the forwarded DN is what is used by the HMS to determine what to do with the call. If mulitple phones are forwarded then it sees different called numbers so calls do not go where i want them to go.
From what I have seen in the HMS, i don't think it is possible to add multiple DNs to one mailbox. I have been unsuccessful in trying to manipulate the entry points to point to a particular mailbox.
I guess in a nut shell, How can i get multiple phones forwarded to a HMS400 and still have them go to the same mailbox? Or a possible alternate solution.

Thanks for the help.

Not elegant but program your fwded-to DN against an analog phone port which is physically crossconnected back into a loop start CO which autoterminates to another DN which goes to your HMS 400. That effectively strips out original called number.

I think we've all fought with something like this, and the "internal trunk" idea works. But I've often thought of using an idea like a call diverter, just as an alternative. It might in fact be cheaper in some situations:

You'd need two analog lines for each "line", and you would have to experiment with disconnect issues. In other words, the analog TN may not drop when you wish it would.

Thanks for the response. I was able to use the Day and Night IDC to get it done so when they put the console in night mode a couple DIDs are translated to the DN for HMS so the caller id is the same and it all goes to the same mailbox.
