Running dual S8720's with CM 3.1.2. Phone is a 9640 and on the 2nd page of the programmed buttons is a CFrwd button. I select the button, dial 9 and then the 7 digit number as the number is local to our calling area. I get a confirmation tone, and then I attempt to dial the number which has CFrwd activated from another station or cell phone and all I get back is ringing.

I failed to mention I am able to forward to a T-Mobile cell phone, Qwest's voicemail system but I am not able to forward to my home number which is provided by Qwest.

try dialing a 9 then the full 10 digit number even though it is local. we have to use the full 10 digit number when we call forward to cells and we have all verizon phones. i don't think that has anything to do with it though.

Thank you kkattfish for the reply. I tried this, but to no avail.

I just cracked up telecomturner. The reason is the customer I am dealing with is pretty tight with cash so they don't want to buy the licenses. I use EC500 all the time; works great. So, I am looking for some other ways to route the extensions to cell phones.

Have you run a trace on the forwarded station?

Can you call the Verizon phone from the 9640?

Tell your customer that you can make it work, but they will need to spring for an EC500 license, end of story! I am sure you have better things to do with your time.

Here is the screenshot. i select CFrwd enter the cell phone number and I get confirmation tone. However, when I call the number all I can hear is dead air.

Is it just me, or does it not seem like it's dialing the full 10 digit number?
do disp ars analysis 9 and see what the minimum and maximum is for just 9, it should also say locl

what happens when you dial the destination number from the phone that you are attempting to forward from? does it go out, and if so does it go out over the same route pattern and trunk?

Here is the ars entery for 9. 10 digits would not be required as this is a local number to this switch.

Dialed Total Route Call
String Min Max Pattern Type
9 7 7 2 natl

From what I can see the call is using the same Route Pattern and Trunk Group.

Chaging ars ana 9 to locl instead of natl did not make any difference

Here is the fix

From "cha system-parameters coverage" page 1 changed the following from y to n:

Immediate redirection on receipt of PROGRESS inband information

Now all I do is press the CFrwd button on the phone, enter 9 and then the cell number. Works very well. I will probably setup a speed dial so the end user will just have to push a button.

Thank you to everyone for the input; all input is always appreciated.
