Call Forward No Answer- FDN

One of the Exec Assistants wants to forward 123-4567 to 765-4321 on ring no answer. So on 123-4567, I set the feature FDN to 765-4321, instead of the VM number. So now it rings 4 times at 123-4567 then rings at 765-4321, then goes to 765-4321 VM. I want it to revert back to the original number's VM 123-4567. Is that possible. I know that it automatically does it on the CM.

I can't see how this would work on the CS1000. Once the call leaves the switch, it won't be able to call back.

The only other way which I stress "might work" as I've never configured it would be to have incoming calls go to a hunt group first and the 1st member would be your extension number and then the second would be the external number with the hunt group set to a linear cycle so that the extension number is always the 1st choice.

I'm not sure if the switch will take back the call to your external phone. The external number would have to be configured as a dummy Phantom number with FTR DCFW set to the external number and the dummy number would be the 2nd choice in the hunt group.

Also all FDN forwarding on the extension number would have to be removed.

What about 1234567 is the pilot for your Hunt Group,the fist extension gets a new DN, hunt group is linear

HG Memebers
1 - the new DN on the first set
2 - 7654321
3 - VM DN

you then config a voicemail 1234567 and as on of the extra VM DN and Message waiting DN you add the new DN you provided to the first extension
