I have a customer with a Nortel Key System that has some age to it.

The main desk receives a call, attempts to transfer the call to an internal extension, the receiving extension rings once quickly before the call is lost. If the receiving extension is anticipating the transfer and is quick to pick up the receiver, they can continue the call. That is even tricky to do when the receiver is aware of the transfer.

I feel like even if the setting of how many rings is allowed for a transfer has been altered, the call would still transfer back to the sender before disconnecting. Please advise.

Thank You,

Nick

I would fist check that FWD busy and are not set. Check the FWD No answer also.

If its not working, get a bigger hammer!

Have you also confirmed the main desk is doing the right procedure to complete the transfer? I would personally stand and watch them to be sure, what they say and what they do are not always the same!

+1 my money is on human error first.....machine problem second
