call disconnect

I have alot of complain that calls are dropped for both incoming and outgoing to landline. Calls are drop through out the day, not in any pattern and a random minutes into the call and for both local, and long distant. So most likely the T1 aren't the source of dropping call

We have 2 T1 (1 PRI for all the local/in-state and a T1 for long distant) hooked up to a dual T1 card. System is IPO 412 with 4 DS-30 and 1-8 ports analog module.

I look at the reports but unable to find a pattern. Can it be a bad system?, etc. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks
Kenny

I would make sure that the phone company is only timing on one of the T1's and your should have the 2nd one set to fallback. I've had this happen a couple of times for this reason.

That's the first thing I checked to make sure one is set to network and the other set to fall back. It didn't help at all ...

So you can't narrow it down to either the T1 or PRI? Do you get inbound calls on T1? If not, then at least some disconnects are happening on PRI. Leave monitor running and get someone to log disconnected calls - see what the disconnect code shows in monitor.

From the monitor log, look like a "Speechpath disconnected " right after OutgoingHandshake on the T1 Long distant line.

Anyone has any idea what's that mean?

Thanks

Previous post look like calls never got connected.

Below seem like when the call dropped after connected for a few minutes

Causes

First, how long have you been using this system? Is it a new install.

Second, are the PRI and T1 from the same carrier?

Three, Does the user or the caller hear inceasing ststic before the drop?

I upgraded the system to the latest 3.2 version because of the dual T1 card bug in the previous version. It doesn't help.

It is a new install about5-6 months ago.

PRI is from Telcove and T1 is from Qwest.

No static ... The call just dropped. Some time dial then drop without connected.

Latest update:

As a precaution of the dual T1 card, I installed a single T1 card on the 2nd expansion slot. Move the T1 to this card ... for the last couple of days so far I haven't heard any complain yet ... I hope its the dual T1 card problem that can be exchange under warranty. Finger cross

Did the single T1 solve your problem?
I have a 406 with a dual T card and now after upgrading the system to the latest build the users are complaining of dropped calls.

I have a 412 with a dual PRI card with 2 PRI's.

The phone system allocates PRI 1 and 2 alternately, but once is gets to 22 connected calls any other inbound or outbound call either displays Disconnect on outbound or busy signal on inbound

Here are the tests I ran:

note I altered the name and outbound numbers to (Blanked)

With both PRIs in service and connected

Made 11 calls to the conference centre (Total of 22 inbound and outbound calls listed on status as 11 line 2 and 11 for line 1) next call showed disconnect (excerpt from log file below)

Put PRI 1 Channels all out of service and disconnected PRI from phone system.

Made 11 calls to the conference centre (Total of 22 inbound and outbound calls listed on status as line 2) next call showed disconnect

Put PRI 2 Channels all out of service and disconnected PRI from phone system.

Made 11 calls to the conference centre (Total 22 inbound and outbound calls listed on status as line 1) next call showed disconnect

For some reason it looks like the phone system cannot pick up a Line/Channel once 22 are in use, it doesn’t matter if it’s on PRI 1, PRI 2 or both. I’ve look through the log file and configuration extensively and nothing jumps out at me as being incorrect.

I’ve highlighted the error code in red.
