I recently installed a Call Pilot 150 (rls. 3.0) with enhanced call center and reporting on an MICS 4.1. I installed the Call Center Application Server and the Reporting for call Center Client software onto the same PC. I know the Server software is up and communicating with the Call Pilot because I can do a connection test with the server setup screen and everything passes, but still the Client software can not make a connection to the server application. I have verified my IP adresses and still nothing. Any help at all would be greatly appriciated.........Thanx.

I too had a dog of a time with this set up, I was confused on IP addresses, On this machine are you using browser to access? I did Http ... localhost... reports.. whatever the book said. Then I got the Call Center connection page. This is the IP address that confused me. The correct entry is the IP address of "again" this machine (not the CP150) plus the :port number. Once I got this it was a happy day. Then from any networked PC you can surf back to this orginal IP address:port number and pull reports if entered as a user.
Forgive me if this is old news, I'm blown away as I learn more and more. I just want to work on phones but more and more gotta do computers. I miss the 1A2 days sometime.

Doesn't it say in the installation manual to NOT install the server and client softwares in the same PC?

I believe it does. I just did this installation a little while ago and that's what I did. One PC as server, other PCs as clients.

Thanks a bunch Alan. But, unfortunattly I tried to put the same IP address of the machine with the port number and I still can not connect. Could I have a problem with using port 8088? I believe the manual states that you CAN put both programs on the same PC but I need to verify.

Found it! From the manual:

"DO NOT install both sets of client software on a single PC. One PC on your network should be nominated as the Master Client PC. Any other PC which will run theclient software MUST be running the multiple client software. NO PC may be used to run both sets of software."

Besides, you can see all the reports and stuff on the Master Client PC anyway, so why would you want both softwares on one PC?

You are correct about master and client units on Rel 2.0 this is the one using the GUI. The Rel 3.0 is a different bird using a browser. The client here is just surfing to that intercompany website built on what is now the "master" The new documents say enter HTTP-localhost if on the application server unit or the HTTP-IP address/RCC... if on a remote PC which would then be previously known as a client.

Keith,
Verify port 8088 is the "listen" port on the dialog box in the application server.

One last thought. I was onsite this AM of my only call center with reporting customer. We are getting an error when using the call center connection page saying "cannot connect to call center..." But when you go to the reports page, you can refresh the database using the 10 second countdown button at the bottom and view call center records to the actual date and time. Strange yes, but allows the end result none the less.
