Hello,
Can someone please tell me how to put a call appearance button on an IP Office 500v2 softphone?
My objective is to give our "power users" the ability to have a softphone using the same extension as their regular office phone. I tried to give these power users a softphone, using the same extension as their regular office phone. The problem, is that when they logged onto the softphone, IP office logs them out of their office phone. They would haven have to re-log back onto their office phone, which is to an annoyance to them. What I’m trying to do, is give each power user a 2nd user account, which is their softphone. That way they can use their softphone, without being logged out of their office phone. The problem, is that I cannot put call appearance of their main extension on the softphone. Each power user uses twining on their main phone to connect to their cell phones, so I’m unable to use twining for the softphone. Also each user has a 2nd phone at their office, which uses a call appearance to access their main extension. I don’t know if it’s possible to put twinning on these second phones pointing to the softphones.
If you have a different solution, I’m open to trying something different.
My configuration is:
Avaya IP Office Control Unit 500 v2
Software 8.1(85) Latest service pack.
All of our office phones are 9608s.
I have “Power User” licenses for the softphones.
Thanks in advanced,
Jack
