Have an IP500 setup with 4 analog lines. When calls come in, only the first line gets answered. Subsequent lines just keep ringing. The odd part is, I can see the call come in on System Status and get directed to the correct call route, but the call is never actually getting answered. The call drops from System Status after about 20 seconds. I've adjusted impedance, gain, even adjusted ring detection and tried both Loop Start and Loop Start CLID.

Anything I am overlooking?

How did you setup the routing, and where are the calls routed to?

Are you routing to a huntgroup with gueing enabled or to a extension?

Did you check the sys monitor logs?

What happens when you swap the lines?

So, you see the destination of the call ringing...where? Auto Attendant? Tried pointing it to a user instead and just have it ring (call the individual line rather than the main line).
Perhaps, using embedded voicemail and you're out of ports (if being answered by AA)?

I used to be an ACE. Now I'm just an Arse.

All calls routed to AA on VMPro. No license issue, plenty free. Same problem if I point to an extension. Call just rings, but SS shows that it has the call.
Sys Monitor shows the call is answered, but clearly it's not being answered.

did you try to swap the ports as suggested earlier, this will tell you if you have bad trunk ports

I have a tech on his way, but it will take an hour or so before he can get to it.

Moved to another port on a different card, same behavior.

IP 500 V1 or V2 ?
Software version?
Have you tested the lines with a buttset?
There were bad combo cards
Do you have another card to test with?
You need to isolate this issue to either hardware or software/configuration error.

After removing the line and testing it, we found some call forwarding active on the line...which is odd since we don't use call forwarding! Turns out it was the telco screwing with our lines.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Providers love to randomly turn on features on lines I see it pretty often. Call waiting is the most popular feature I see get randomly turned on.

Yeah, and I thought AT&T was bad. CenturyLink and Birch...ugh...I have to have a beer after dealing with them.
