We have a S8720 with 10 S8300/g450 Lsp's. We are looking at call accounting systems and want some feedback, good and bad.
Has anyone used Microcall , Veramark or any other product. The directory on microcall looks interesting. Not really worried about call records from the LSP's if the systems go into survivable mode.
Any comments would be appreciated.

I have used both Microcall and Veramark. both work well for call accounting. I have not used the newest vesion of Microcall, so I can not say much about that. My advise is to demo both, and match your needs as close as you can. I have offshore location now, and the Vermark product can handle multi system inputs well. But it really all depends on what you need, and how much you want to pay.

We are probably one of the largest customers that MicroCall has. So i would have to say that MicroCall would be my first choice. I only wish that every technical support group i had to work with had that level of employee's and customer service. #1 in anyone's book that has ever had to work with them.

The latest release is a SQL server based unit. It increased the processing time dramatically over the MS SQL found on PC's. We also run our billing from this unit. It sorts through roughly 1.3 million calls a month and sends out distributed reports to our business managers. If you bill back for services at your place of business the automated process is really a great feature. We are also going to add network connectivity and server usage to their normal phone bill also, so again this is is a "set it and forget it" process. Multiple locations is also not a problem.

You can contact Todd Hegi at MicroCall for a demo at 770-447-5408.

When is the last time you helped someone, just because you were able to?

You could also try Proteus. We have used it for years and love it. It is very reasonably priced too.

I am a big fan of ISI infortel. Works well and supports Avaya new RSP polling. No buffer box needed. Check the Web site

We looked at ISI and they had awful reporting. If you need just basic reporting this might work, but we needed some pretty deep access to the data.

I would also put in my vote for MicroCall. I have Veramark eCas now and I hate it. I used MicroCall in my previous job and I had 9 copies running on both Avaya and Nortel systems. I would also agree that I have never worked with a better technical support staff than the ones at MicroCall. It is the best product for call accounting that I have ever used in my nearly 20 years of telecom.

We are also using Proteus.

We found it to have more options for the money.
