Hi.. I have an MICS (v.6.1) with a Call Pilot 150 and am looking to get some type of call accounting reports. I am a computer guy that got thrown under the phone system bus. I have a fairly good idea of how the MICS works, but have not been able to find much info on reports. I have around 50 extensions plus 1 CAP. I would like to get some type of summary and/or detail of calls transferred, made and/or answered at each extension. So far, it appears I need some external software and/or hardware.

(a) do I need additional hardware/software
(b) any suggestions on packages/approximate cost?

Thanks in advance.

smdr6 will give you raw data that you should be able to format to a custom program...cintech has a call accounting solution but you need to get from a vendor

I agree with luv2ski. You should get a CTA100 or SMDR6 and TeleSeries by Citnech. You just load it onto a PC that is running 24/7 and whenever you want, you can generate reports based on all kinds of info. You can filter based on time/extentions/trunks/whatever and get the info you need.

Very handy tool for figuring out whos is doing what they should be doing. You will need CallerID on the trunks to know who is calling in. I fyou only care about outbound calls, you will be fine with whatever you have.

Okay thanks for the input... Can anyone tell me what is the difference between SMDR5 and SMDR6? I don't mind writing my own script since I am a codehead and just inherited the phone switch admin job by default.

smdr6 is compatible with 6.1"i think down to 4.0"

Agreed....

for a MICS v6.1 the SMDR6 is required (it is fully backwards compatible as well). The SMDR6 is also different from an SMDR5 in that it can "share" a stn port with Norstar Digital Set.

You may wish to review RSI's Call Accounting Solutions at ...for a basic reporting solution, typically Revolution Call Accounting Software is recommended. You can also download a trial copy for 30d at no charge.

Hope this helps...
