Hello Everybody!

When I was googling after a Sidekick-compatible software I came across this group.
I guess I could help some of you guys/ladies 'cause the version I'm using is just runing fine on my XP.
It crashes only when WinXP going down.
The calender working fine ('till 2029 I guess), etc.

The version I use is Sidekick98-Fullversion and I have used it 5-6 years!

I'm happy to share with me if I got an FTP address (the package is 30MB large).

I'm sending this message also to the addresses on the FAQ-side.

Happy 'kicking'
Regards
JM

Hi Julimajo -

Sidekick 98 runs fine on XP, those who may have any particular problems will be sorted out doing a search on the forum here, and James33's website (and the work he's put into the FAQ's) have tons of info for anyone who may have any trouble getting rolling on XP.

Re: Calendar to 2029, no crash:

I don't think it's crashing that is the issue, it's items forwarding properly. That future pages "show" isn't the issue... Frankly you'd have to read a number of the threads that pertain to this topic, here on the forum, to get the familiarity of what the shortcomings are, if you aren't using those functions etc that is cool. For me I just use Sidekick 98 (on XP) for the database functions (nothing else has been as flexible and workable for my needs).

Re: availability of the program, just so you know, as mentioned in many posts here and in the FAQ, James33 has "all" the various Sidekick versions including '98 and various patches all available for download on his sites (done free, tons of help provided as well, two salutes to James33 for all of that work and ongoing help).

Hi Julimajo, I read your message just fine, I hope you read mine just fine as well. No ill will intended at all, but do familiarize yourself a bit as expressed in my post, thanks!

Dear julimajo,

Thank you for your suggestion, I am afraid that I have been somewhat preoccupied with a broken computer (I had to use Linux Mandrake to recover) and I was not able to reply to your original email.
The Sidekick version that you are using 'Could' be a later version than the one that I have for download which is 1.00.037

If you check the properties of your version by right clicking on the shortcut that you use to start the program and choosing Find Target and then right clicking on the Sidekick program file Sidekick.exe and selecting the properties you will then find that there is an extra tab called Version which if you choose the Product version Text box will give you the number above, or some other number if so do let us know.
Welcome to the forum anyway, the more the merrier!
ps Frank, thanks for the support too, I appreciate it.

Regards Jim
