Hi,

I am wanting to create a database for scheduling of several items for hire. I am having trouble with the bookings form. I was hoping for something similar to Outlook but with the ability for several calenders for each day/week etc. I have searched the website and can't seem to find any ideas on how to go about this. Any help or direction would be great.

Thanks in advance

You didn't give us a lot to go by. You might want to look at purchasing a third party solution like those found at

Duane,

Thanks for your comments. Sorry I didn't give a lot of detail. What I am trying to do is create a database for the hiring of a number of pieces of equipment. Along with that I want to have other fields and info in the DB to store other data relevant to the hire. A lot of third party solutions do a invoicing as well and don't have the fields that I require. A third party solution for the calender part alone is certainly one option that I was looking into but having trouble finding a suitable one. Several solutions give a calender that you can enter tasks or whatever but I need on one calender to be able to have a number of hires of different equipment and for it to show the hire period. I am in the process now of downloading a sample from the website you gave me. Thank you.

There are some sample calendar type reports These don't show you how enter the initial schedule records.

There is a recurring schedule sample at

Duane,

I appreciate your persistence with me and apologise for my vagueness. The problem I have is that I have no idea how to go about this.

What I want is a form with a month to view and the ability to show several hires at a time over several days/weeks and to make it easier to decipher, it would be good if those several hires could have a different colour. Say each piece of equipment could have it's own colour that is used each time. Ideally, if you double click any of the hires, on any date it would bring up the form that was entered with additional info (ie. name, address, requirements etc). Should the dates need to be changed or the equipment changed that would be done from this calender/scheduling/dates of hire form (in a perfect world, by drag & drop).

Now that is how I would really like to have it work, but any suggestions, hints, tips or alternatives would be greatly appreciated because right now, I don't have many options.

Thanks again

There is no native functionality in Access to show and allow editing on a form as you are asking. The closest solution I know is the first link I posted to the third party controls.

Thanks Duane for your input, I may have to look at other options to achieve the desired result.

Thanks Bocker, This is the closest that I have seen in access to what I need. It is a long way off but as you said it gives me a place to start.
