We have several remote sites sending serial, voice, and video via multiplexer through T1s back to multiplexers back at the center.

My question is how do we determine how much of our total bandwidth is being used by our current hardware so that we can decide if we can comfortably add more hardware?

I've seen software that indicates it can calculate bandwidth usage but since out T1 is going point-to-point between devices I don't see how I could implement something like that. Is there a device that we could purchase that could maybe be placed inline to give us the stats we need?

I have a Fluke QuickBERT that can tell me if there are problems but not usage statistics.

Or alternatively am I looking at this all wrong? I can't find any data on this so it leads me to wonder what I'm not understanding.

Is this channelized T1 into the public telephone cloud or an IP T1?

If you ask a better question you will get a better reply. Be specific so we can help!

Unfortunately I think this is the kind of thing that I will only be able to ask the right questions once I've found the answers I need in the first place.

I believe that our T1s are channelized. I don't know what 'into the public telephone cloud means' but they are point-to-point through the phone company - not to an ISP.

Thanks for trying to help.
