I am trying to calculate a total on the main form of three fields located in the three subforms I have.

Anything I have found in reference isn't expansive enough or WAY to expansive on what their outcome is.

I have done this before but its been 3+ years...

thanks !~

Is the subform a continuous form? If so, you will need to add controls with a Sum to the form footer. The control source would be something like:

=Sum(ThisField)

You can then refer to the subform control in the main form:

So in each subform I need a sum field in the footer, then how do I get the total in the main form in one field?

You can add, too.

=Sum(ThisField+ThatField+TheOtherField)

Have a look at the link I posted for information on referencing fields on subforms.

Remou - I have looked at the link you posted...but its coming across all greek to me at the moment, I think I am burned out for the day.

Nothing I do seems to work...

Even when I try and point to the subform, add the title to the sum field it still is coming up with a #error.

Please post the expression you are using.

I misread your post: you will have to add the fields on the main form, I thought you had three fields, but you have three forms.
