calculated field puzzle 1

Hi folks

I've created a report using VFP8 that uses a calculated field in the detail section of a report.

I copied the calculated field and placed in in the footer of the report and selected SUM to total it.

It seems to work fine up to about 34400 records but after that the result is that the field displays zero ie 0.00

The total up to rec no 34400 is say 1,234,567.89 and the expression box is formatted 99,999,999.99

Has anybody any idea as to why this could be happening?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Can't see why your design isn't working but you could try putting the calculation into a report variable and summing that instead.

another idea, if this is a calculation that you are printing only once, at the end of the the report (if that's what you meant by 'footer of the report') you can do your calculation before you even get into the report.

Thanks for your suggestions guys but neither has worked.

Seems to work up to 35000 records then all you get is either 0.000 or ***************.

I'm wondering if there may be some sort of data corruption issue. Any thoughts???

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. There was indeed numeric overflow in one of the fields (out of 70000)

Report seems to be running as expected.
