I Have a user that has been writing email addresses in the To of their microsoft outlook. Outlook caches the addresses and when she next types it Outlook autofills the rest. Because of this she has not saved them in her contact list and now has moved to a new computer.

Can anyone tell me where this caching is saved so that i can copy, i have copied her profile to the new machine but the autofill didnt work.

Thanks

I've never tried moving this from one computer to another, so I don't know if it will work. Also, different versions of Outlook store the nickname cache in different formats. Assuming that we're talking about Outlook 2002 or 2003, the nickname cache is a *.nk2 file.

I found this file it is stored in the users profile, which is application data\microsoft\outlook\

But this file had already been copied across when the original profile was copied. Is there any chance of exctacting these so i can at least import them into the contacts list?

I have found this really need tool which exports them into a csv file which can then be imported into the contacts.

the tool can be found at..

Thanks for your help anyway
