Cable Modem and Broadband Connection

I have a cable modem connection and also a phone line connection configured through DUN. My phone line connection was initially through PeoplePC but after having problems I uninstalled their software and paid another ISP that I could configure through DUN. I can find one instance of peoplepc in the registry, however it will not allow me to delete it. I suspected that the peoplepc software had made changes in the registry.

The problem I am having is that even though my cable modem is connected, I keep getting the dialup window from the dialup phone line modem which is configured for BBUSA ISP. I go to tools-internet options-connection tab and set it to never dial a connection, however the same thing happens over and over and when I go to the dialup connection options in IE, it changes back on it's own to dial whenever network connection is unavailable.

Of course when I delete the dialup connection, the dialup dialouge stops coming up because I have deleted it and also because the network connection is active and present.

What am I missing here?
