Im not sure if this is the rigth place to be posting this but does anyone here know a place that sells quality cat 5 cable in the sydney area? I am after the best quality cable at the lowest price, and need length of about 50m.

You can try pricewatch.com and check out some of the companies on there. Don't know if any of them ship to sydney, but its worth a shot.

Check out Anixter. They are a large cable and communication distributor with an office in Sydney.

However, it may be difficult to obtain a small quantity of 50m. Cable is usually sold in 1000 ft. or greater spools or boxes. You can ask if they have any "shorts" in stock. Or you could try to order a "giga speed" patch cable.

seriously, buy the whole box and terminate it yourself. For what you will spend on one 150' (50M) preterminated cable, you could almost pay for the 1000' spool and the RJ-45 ends.

Plus, when someone runs a chair over that cable, you can just make another one!
