Hi, we just started use Unicenter and i try to format the traps i received...i'd installed TRAPEDITOR from the ANO cd...and i got a lot of mibs in that...but i dont have any translate traps in my console...

I find that very weird...

Too how can i load BayStack mib..???

Did you turn on trap translation on the EM servers?

Sure i do that! Maybe i do it at the wrong place...

EM settings, event management, use provided table -> YES..

After changing the setting you have to stop & start Unicenter (unicntrl stop ALL && unicntrl start ALL).

Yeah i know!!!...the problem is that i always receive the trap in RAW format...i don't know why because Trap editor seems well configure...and all the traps i receive isnt translate...i really dont understand...

I opened an issue at CA ... but they don't even know...they are just trying some sorts of fix...but nothing really fix my problem...

I had already use openview and tivoli and i'd never so much problem...but now i MUST learn how CA working...and it's a big job...it's fill of bug...my explorer crash everybody 5 min...i dunno what to di with that software...

If you have an idea of what can fix my problem...don't be shy and tell it to me!

Have you discovered the device you're receiving traps from, and assigned a DSM to it?

Remember, the DSM actually does the trap translation...

Heee...i'm not sure i well understand what you mean but i'll try to answer to the best i can...

Yes the device is discovered, some are not but a lot are discovered since a long time.

I've only got 1 machine to run all the CA-Unicenter Solution, so my server is automaticallu the DSM to all the equipments...

So...i know that is complicated but i can't do anything with this software...
