C-Lan Setup

Ok, I have a Definity Intuity and i have the clan card setup, i can not find how to get into the change ip-services to turn on SAT? but everything else is setup. i can ping it, and i have the software setup on my pc. i just cant log in. i did a port scan and i once found port 23 to be live on the Definity, but now i did it again, and its not there. what else can i check to see if its working...

Are you just trying to set up DSA/ASA to administer via IP?

Yes im only using DSA, and its v9

You need to administer SAT on the "change ip-services" screen. That's where you set the port. Often it's port 5111.

In DSA change the IP port from 23 to 5009 and try to connect.

doesnt work.. and i can not get into change ip-services.

Do a "list config software" to find the release of the PBX, not DSA. If you don't have an IP-Services screen, you probably do not have an R9 or greater PBX and therefore cannot use SAT via IP/CLAN.

v8.. my eyes were playing games with me. WHy would the software, the card, and the cable all be installed on my system if i couldnt do it!? makes no sense. i have seen people do it. that has to be a way, and the options are all enabled on the system.

You cannot do SAT services before Release 9. You are most likely using the CLAN to integrate the Definity with your Intuity Audix.

Very simple solution.

What are your permission levels for your account? You probably haven't got your account turned on with full permissions, as it will not allow you to modify the said ip-services without these permissions turned all the way up.

RELEASE 8 DOES NOT HAVE IP-SERVICES. YOU CANNOT ADMINISTER A PRE-R9 PBX VIA CLAN. That is the simple most correct answer to the question.

I also have a G3 with V8 software. I use ASA to access our Intuity through a C-Lan card. On the switch side I use the Inads port with a modem using ASA. This works well. I should be at V11 before the end of the month and then I should be able to use the C-Lan in the switch. This may be a alternative for you.
