I have a win95 machine that logs onto a winnt domain. I use system policies to restrict users from making network changes. However, the networking configuration on this machine is corrupted and cant logon to the domain. The last user was restricted and unless I can logon to the domain I cant unrestrict the machine. Is there any way around this so I dont have to reinstall the entire operating system and everything? If I could logon to the local machine my administrator profile is still there, but I cant get a local machine logon because the machine wants to logon to the domain.

any help would be appreciated...

Try booting the Win95 PC in Safe-mode and then run Poledit from there to re-enable network properties access. Let me know if you need details.

If the "current user" has been restricted from running Poledit, you may have a hard time restoring the system to functional condition. That's one of the things I hate about the Policy Editor.

If you'd like, I can send you a little DOS-based utility designed to control restrictions on stand-alone machines. Pull the computer off of the network, reboot to the MS-DOS prompt and run the app. You can remove the restrictions for a given user, restore the network connection and, hopefully, log back on to the domain.
