Hi

We have recently had 2x new Mitel 3300MXe's installed on two sites replacing Siemens DX switches. As we had a large amount of analogue still on both of our sites, the proposed solution was to repurpose SX2000 lite's to provide the analogue functions (the aim was to keep the cost down of the initial install)

The Site 1 move went perfectly and we have had no problems with the analogue extensions. Site 2 though we have had an intermittent buzz/hum noise on some extensions. With our service provider we have swapped out all of the components of the SX2000 (extension cards, switch controller card, PSU and even the whole chassis). Unfortunately due to the age of the SX2000, the swaps we have been doing have been with old/refurbished cards and so the quality of them can not be guarrenteed so there is a chance we have been swapping faulty for faulty.

Our service provider has installed earth connections to the SX2000 and also all the Mitel Anthonal->RJ45 panels. When an extension is plugged directly into the back of the MXe using the 4 analogue ports there, there is no buzzing or interference. We never had this sort of interference with the Siemens system so I am fairly confident that the fault is not with our structured cabling.

I was wondering if anyone had experienced these sort of problems/had any pointers on where to start or even if there are any tests we can perform to try and pinpoint the source of this issue.

Many thanks

Ian
