I'm currently purchasing all of my digital sets (T7316Es and such) from my Nortel distributor. I can find the same equipment off the internet, advertised as new with a one year manufacturer's warranty, for almost half the price I'm paying wholesale.
Can anyone give me a good reason why I shouldn't purchase through a web-site and who are the good ones?

Thanks

Have you looked at the Rating of the seller, that is the best indicator of there trustworthiness. I have been buying Nortel Equipment for over 15 years on Ebay and I have never had a Bad deal. If I do need to buy from a dealer, I use A1Teletronics, one of the vendor's that adverts on this site.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

The price of the phone does not include installation. Also try to call the seller with any questions that you might have and see if they will help you for free. They might answer a few quick questions, but I will tell you, they will never do as our company does. I am not a believer in buying off the web.

I lose more bids to one Vendor on Ebay then I get and he resells them. If your the kind of person that needs a Vendor to fix all your problems and you have a Maintence Contract, then you should get your Equipment from him. But if your the one doing the Maintence and you don't have any kind of contract, then by all means buy then where ever you can. And as far as A1Teletronics, they sell and install also and can answer your questions. Plus they give a 2 year warranty.

I know my profile says technical user but I'm actually a Nortel BCM vendor and tecnical user, so I'm not looking for installation support. I'm really looking for better wholesale prices on the sets while at the same time not losing anything on quality.
I've found that the prices on the systems and software is not that much better on the various web sites so I'm going to stick with my distributor for now on the major components.

I don't think authorized distributor's give any support to End User's, they only support authorized Partner Vendors.

My distributor (Wescon) only provides 30 day post sale support and after that they say talk to Nortel. They don't provide a whole lot of pre-sale support either. Does Ingram do any better?
