Hi all, customer wants to buy additional handsets for an R7 unit.

Disti is telling us we cannot get R6+ lic anymore, and need to upgrade to R11??

Upgrade cost + our time to do it, for the sake of a couple of handsets, customer has done totally nuts.

Any ideas please, do new Avaya AV IP Endpoint lic still work on R7 unit?

Thanks in advance

The licenses you need are ADI type licenses which are not sold anymore.
The only licenses available are PLDS which require the upgrade.

We have still been able to get ADI licenses from our Distributor. The disti has to send it to Avaya to be redeemed so it takes several days but it is still possible and much cheaper than a Avaya money grab upgrade.

Or just stick a second hand VCM32 in there?

I don't see how you can call an upgrade a money grab, IPOSS is so cheap I wonder how it's even possible for them to sell it at that price since it costs the same regardless of what licenses you have.

Version 7 is old, it is from 2011.

If you have the ports and wiring, digital sets are an option, no licence.
