I have 2 buttons and a check box on my worksheet. When I print they "automagically" move to the left and are piled on each other.

I have taken off move and resize but they still do it.

Any ideas how to stop the behavior.

Thanks

Mj,

Unfortunately, that's a "custom feature" of using ActiveX commandbuttons. I'm assuming that you have some hidden columns (or rows), protection and/or filters applied to the worksheet. In the past I have noticed the same kind of problems whenever I combine ActiveX controls with some of the above.

The only suggestions I know off hand are:

1. Use a standard Forms Commandbutton instead (if you can)
2. Include some funky code within your button Click event to store the current position of the button and then restore it at the end.

I'm still looking for a decent solution to the problem.
Anyone else with any suggestions?

I found the .left property that I could set. Does anyone know if the is an ON PRINT event that I could use to move them back to there proper location.

Thanks Ravalia

It's a documented bug, and this issue I believe was fixed in the Excel 2002 post-Service Pack 3 Hotfix Package May 6, 2004.

The following KB also details a workaround if you haven't installed the fix.

Thanks Ken that appears to be it... I will have to make an afternoon of it and call MS.

Thanks and have a star.

If you are using Excel 2002, try this: Go in design mode in the sheet, right click the button, "Format control", "Properties", select "Move and size with cells". Your buttons should stay in place after printing or previewing. Don't ask me why.
