Button with reverse action 1

I would like to make a button that when you roll over it, there is like a darkening of the background of the button, then when you roll off of the button, the background of the button returns to its original color , but not instantaneously...

the navigation buttons at the top right ... something like that. The background in the button deepens in color then returns just as quickly when you roll off. How do you do that?

not to contradict oldnewbie, but it'd be even less typing if you just stick the movie clip for the background rollover in the "over" frame of the button. Then your only action would be "stop();" in the last frame of that movie clip. The "over" frame takes care of all the hitTest programming.
