Hi,

IP Office 500 Ver 8.1

Just installed one of these and the reception phone is a 1616 with a 32 button expansion module.
I have programmed the buttons to dial various extensions so enable quick transfer of calls.
What they would like is to be able to see if a particular extension is is use when a call comes in.
I can acheive this by programming the button for bridged appearance but then that button cannot be used to dial the number.

Basically this is how thier old Agfeo system worked. On the expansion module there was a button and a light. Light on = extension in use. Press button next to light = dial number.

Is thier a way to acheive what they are after? Looking at options I am thinking not but any ideas gratefully received as at the moment they are seeing the Avaya system as a backwards step.

I have enough buttons available to have 2 for some extensions. One for bridged appearance and one for dial but this seems a bit of a messy solution.

Many thanks

Jon

press f1 and look for "user" button

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

You need to make the button a "User" button and not a "Dial" button, this will indicate user activity and allow them to be dialled, you can even answer their calls as it will flash to indicate they are ringing, basically you have the buttons programmed incorrectly :)
