button icon/ home screen issue

I just installed a new 500v2 9.1.5 with 9608 phones and sidecars (bm12's)

I have 2 admins who answer phones for the managers, they are coming off a Avaya CM.

one of the issues they are having is when 2 or 3 call are coming in for the other people on the bridged button they want to be able to get back to the home screen to make a call for themselves.. but the phone(home) button dosnt bring them back? and pressing ignore only stops the ring. the only thing she can do is press the arrow key on the nav circle multiple times to scroll back..

so I turned off auto answer feature, now the screen dosnt float to call on the bridge and she always has her home screen. the new problem is the bell icon dosnt show and also the green light is gone?? the button only lights up red and the icon for being on hold is now showing on a incoming call from outside office..so if 2 or 3 people are on hold and another is calling in she cant tell the difference from a call on hold to a ringing line?

it is strange because if that bridged phone gets a call internally from ext to ext the bell still shows.

so in closing she need to be able to get back to home screen or figure out why bell icon goes away?

she does want to press an idle call app, but you cant see those buttons when the screen floats to button on side car with out hitting nav circle to get back first.. there should be 1 button to allow you to get back to home screen?!?!?

this wouldn't matter if I would just get the bell icon on the bridged app when you call that ext from outside office???? it only appears when you call from phone to phone..

This is why we like to use 1616 with BM32 for such things, a lower grade phone but far more useable from this perspective. Avaya are often inconsistent in the way things work on the 96xx handsets, sometimes between IPO releases but especially moving between IPO and CM

Sorry - I'm being thick maybe but aren't those little plastic bumps around the edge of the screens the buttons. You don't need to see the button's status on the display to be able to press it. The idle call appearance will be the one that isn't lit (and yes, with only 8 buttons you can remember which are the call appearances).

the little plastic bumps don't help when your main screen buttons 1 thru 8 disappear and you are looking at buttons from side car(25 thru 32)when a call comes in... if you press any of those you will get whatever button got moved over when the screen floated from the call to a bridge on your side car. the phone button should really allow you to get back to main screen or maybe the ignore button should reset the screen? in CM the option to change this is in the menu.
