Hello all.

As you are about to find out, I am not too good with Flash, and its all fairly new to me!

I have a button with some simple events: the button changes colour when you roll the mouse over it, and the work changes colour when you click the button...

I have seen flash buttons which appear to not just switch from one colour to another, but they fade into another colour... which is a much nicer affect.

I have been trying to insert more frames after the "Down" frame in the timeline, in order to insert a few frames with slight colour changes, in the hope of producing a fade-in affect.

I am yet to work out how to do this!!!

Has anyone got any idea how you achieve this fading in affect?

Cheers
Brett

You'll need to use movie clips to achieve that kind of an effect...

These might somewhat help...

Use a movieclip with the same graphics as your button on a layer. on another layer, add a box that covers the area you want as your hit area. convert the box to a button, and set it's alpha to 0%. When you put the movieclip on stage, add a hitTest in the event handler and you can control the movieclip from there to achieve any effect you want. If you know the basics of movieclips, it's quite easy.

I'm no expert, but I've progressed well beyond this point. I've been there before. If you're still having problems, I'd be willing to walk you through it.
