I have a phone that is not listed in User Management, not in the deleted users list, IS in Communication Manager, and shows in GEDI the only usage is the Emergency Loc. I have tried everything I can think of to remove. If i remove through GEDI it flips to page 6 where SIP Trunk is blank. Whether I add aar in through GEDI or through System Manager it doesnt stick, but does say command completed successfully.

I need to remove the phone to rebuild as a regular user, unable to as it is an existing extension. Any ideas?
 
li usage extension, it will not remove a station until it has been removed from other users buttons etc..... this command will show you all appearances of this user in the system.

Only item returned in GEDI with usage is the Emergency Loc. I went through groups/bridges/etc.. Its like it wants to stay forever.
 
so if you display that station it comes up, if not then you have already deleted it, try to add that station again

I tried to delete via CM and it doesnt give an error but doesnt remove it, I tried to add the extension without "Use Existing Extension" and it obviously returns that it is already in use. Attempted to build with the check for existing and it gives a crazy error about nested exceptions. I tried to remove via GEDI and it flips to the 6th page about SIP trunk being blank. If I add aar into the GUI for CM it accepts it but is blank when it comes back from making the change. If i add it in GEDI it saves, says 'Command Successful,' and if I go back to it its blank again.



 
how do you know it doesn't delete it? did you run the command li usage extension and (extension number) what does that come back with, maybe its not an extension do a li uniform and see if it is build as a udp code which is steered to a remote site

I've seen some corruption sometimes through System Manager where "SIP Trunk:" on page 6 of a SIP station form is blank, you fill it in, save, and it never takes, but you can add the same piece of information in "change off-pbx station mapping 1234" if you were using extension 1234. I've had that fill in the SIP trunk field when you couldn't in the station form. Perhaps that will let you remove that station from administration.

And do an incremental SMGR sync after.

I check and it still shows in Communication Manager as well as li usage ext.

I tried to add the off pbx portion with the same luck. I was going to do a sync and then make some changes but currently we get an error on about 80% of our 4000 phones stating " An error downloading server content" which isnt a problem but it causes all of the users to freakout and think everything is broken. Its Friday.. id like to avoid a melt down when only one user is really being affected.
 
I am guessing that a reboot would not be allowed during business hours, also you may have some data corruption going on here

Do not use gedi. Use advanced and Start Emulation.

Command: remove station xxxx

Post the error message received
If corrupted, most likely error would be "Error encountered can't complete request" or
"Identifier not assigned"
These type errors returned also mean the corruption is saved to the xln file. You will
need a Software Corruption Engineer to resolve your issue.

You can try to dummy this xxxx station so it will be freed up for future use.

Command: change extension xxxx

This should allow you to change xxxx to yyyy and reuse xxxx for something else.

The overall fix was to change the the template for the phone to the generic 9608 NON SIP which removed the need for the trunk and then I was able to delete properly. I synced before removing and after then rebuilt the phone and everything has been fine. Thank for the help everyone!
