Customer with just 2 POTS lines in system (406v2/3.0.59). They understand that lines will often be busy because of this low number of copper. My question is - on outbound calls - how to program so that when the 2 POTS are already in use the employee calling out receives a busy tone? As it is now, the call is just dropped with no audible result. The employees would be better served by an audible busy signal.

Any ideas, greatly appreciated.

Two weeks ago we have upgraded our 406V2 3.1 environment with the Avaya december maintenance release. The problem you discribe did not occur in the november release we used previously, however with this former releasee the outgoing call that produced a busy-signall could not be dropped with the Softconsole END button. With the December release this problem is solved, but we don't hear the busy-signall anymore. In our current 3.0.148 december release the busy signal is not audible anymore and the line is dropped automaticly, so basicly the same problem. Have you or anyone else resolved this issue with changes in programming perhaps?

Go to one of the users and go to the Telephony tab and see if the Offhook Station is checked. If so, try un-selecting it and see it that fixes it.
