Hi,
I am having difficulties installing Business Portal v1.2. It's being installed on Windows 2000 Server SP3, SQL Server 2000 SP3, Great Plains v7.5 with the TWO company installed only. The server is a standalone server. The server runs no other applications.
I proceed with the installation and reach a screen which asks for 'Connection Information' (Step 13 on Page 33 of the Business Portal Installation Guide PDF). This window states -
'SQL credentials that can be used to create the Business Portal SQL login and to add SQL objects (These credentials are used only during the installation process)'
This screen provides a choice of Windows Authentication or SQL Server. I supply the 'sa' user and password and get the following error message -
'The Business Framework Login ID is currently a member of the SQL Server system adminstrator fixed server role. Please choose a SQL Login ID that is not a member of this role.'
So, for fun I created a SQL USer that is not a member of the system administrator fixed role and got the following error message -
'The Administrator Login ID specified ([login name]) is not a member of the SQL Server system administrator fixed server role. Please enter a Login ID that is a member of this role.'
This happens regardless of Windows Authentication or SQL Authentication.
I ran a SQL Profiler during the install process and I found an error 208 (object not found) when the install process was trying to query 'Mbfinstalledatabases' table which does not exist in any database in SQL.
I have checked techknowledge and there is nothing related to this problem.
I can not proceed any further with the install. :-(
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Marcin.
