Burning with a SuperDrive?

I have a G4 Mac (Sawtooth) with a SuperDrive. From what I've read, I should be able to burn CDs with it; I've never heard any problems creating DVD-RAMs with the drive. However, I've installed Toast but it doesn't recognize the drive as a CD burner. Do I need to do something else to get CD-burning working? Is it even possible?

I forgot to mention, in case it matters, that we're running Toast 3.5.7.

Thanks,

What OS?

I am not good on Toast history but isn't this version old? Toast is up to version 6. I would doubt that an old CD writer application will work with new drives.

9.2.2, and yep I believe the most recent Toast is 6. But I don't think that's the problem; I installed iTunes and it doesn't seem to recognize the drive either. I thought all SuperDrives (especially on a G4) should be able to burn CDs, especially if the work with DVDs. Maybe not...?

I have not, no, but I will. Thanks. :)
