I try to burn some Raxon CD-R's 1-52x, 99 min, 900 MB with my CD-RW SONY CRX140E using Nero 6,0. Each time after adding the files (round 870 MB) and pushing "burn" the disk comes out and the message is: not enough space on disk, insert a disk with a larger capacity. I configured the Settings for Nero in More->Configure->Expert features with media set to 99:54:74 and disabled Check for correct disk format in Configure->General, as per recommendations from the techsupport of Nero.com. It still doesn't work. Is it a question of unsupported media/peripheral device or is it the software?
Thanks in advance for all your tips.

It's not a question of software. Check Sony's site to see if the burner supports that capacity - some don't, particularly older models.

Also, what happens if you try to burn, say, 820MB or less? Does it work?

Thank you cdogg for yr prompt reply.
I tried to burn gradually in order to find out what amount of data can be placed on the CD-R. The maximum I could reach was 703 MB.
It didn't work either on my laptop which has a DVD-burner Mat(su)shita/Panasonic in the idea that maybe the CD burner does not recognize a larger capacity than classical 650-700 MB. A DVD-RW should actually see more.
There was no progress, yet.
I'll try with Sony to see their latest firmware maybe the device is as you say an older model.
I'll keep in touch.

Yep, the upgrading the firmware was my next suggestion!

Good luck! [thumbsup2]
