I am having a tech do some programing today. I figure I will give him a list.

1. Right now all outgoing calls give our main number. We have several DID numbers. We want some of those numbers to be sent out instead of the main number when that particular extension makes a call (i.e.our school's DID office number) I don't want all of them just some of them. The rest can give the main number. Can this be done?

2. I would like a softkey to show up on incoming calls. SEND TO VOICEMAIL. I want to be able to push a button and send an incoming call directly to my voicemail.

3. When calling an extension I would like to push a button and go to their voicemail without waiting for the customary 4 rings when I know they aren't there. Can this be done?

All 3 items can be done

1) See cm 1212 , 1213 and 5005

2) Call Redirect Feature. You will need a redirect button
CM 9000>ext, btn:F5012

CM 5122>tn:sta ( station = vm pilot)

3) try calling a station then press 9 when it starts ringing. call should transfer to vm. this should operate as a default setting, no programming required.

Gary

thanks, I will pass it on...

3) Doesn't work...it was supposed to but never did...

was waiting till I got home to answer this but I was beaten to it. I must admit though I was going to say I didn't know of a way to achieve No 3 though.

If quick transfer to Vmail is set up, you can transfer to the ext and dial a 9 B4 you hang up.

Update... I sent the tech my list.
He says #1 is an all or nothing thing... that tenants have to be built and all DID numbers will have to be displayed. I can't do that because the pastors' private lines need to stay private and I only want the main church number to show up on caller ID except for the eleven on the list I gave him.

He removed the Voice/Tone toggle (not on the above list) softkey and in the process removed all the softkeys on outgoing calls.

He is still trying to do get number 2 and 3 to work.
He will be coming over at 10am Wed morining to try a few things. Any suggestions I can give him will be helpful. I don't think they do very many NEC 2000ips here in Mobile.

Note: The original tech call was based on a phone that was dropping handset calls. I found out that there was a bad lot of DTerm Series i phones. They gave me the bad lot numbers and ALL 60 of my 8 button phones and 10 of my 32 button phones were in the bad lots and will be replaced.

Since I don't know what softkeys are available, any suggestions?

Melanie

You can send DID on an individual basis from each telephone. Once you assighn it that phone wheen it makes an outside call will always send that number. Here are the commands.

5005>00>540434
1212>100>1321
1213>100>00
1325>100>1
In this example I would be sending 5404341321 from extension 100. You also need to make sure that the telco is set up to recieve CPN. I hope this helps. If the telco doesn't see anything being sent they should send the default caller ID attatched to the Telcos Trunk Group.
So in essence you should only have to set it on the extensions you want to send a unique caller ID.

In class of service you can take that priviledge for a person to be able to switch to a voice call in cm1567.

As for voicemail dial 9 quik transfer this only works whenever a call is being transfered not when you call it directly. Unless something has changed. Which sounds great to me. You could have your tech set up a virtual extension with no voicemailbox attatched to it and have it forwarded to voicemaill. All you have to do is dial that virtual, when you hear the main greeting dial the persons extension and 7. It will go straight to their voicemailbox. Then you can press * and skip the greeting and leave a message. You must also set the pilot number of the voicemail in cm5118 to get the 9 to work. You can also set cm08>428>0 for transfer with campon.

I have never done call redirect, but it appears that you have to have direct trunk appearance on your phone. I don't know if it will work with DID calls. Give it a whirl.

In the tech's defence he may not ave known abought the CPN by station. That is not a great excuse, but if you have never done it you may not have known. I remember when I first started on the 2000.

Thanks, I will pass it on...Our quick transfer has never worked.
We can dial voicemail and leave a message for an extension but that is as many steps as you listed above.
I really wanted a softkey or button on the phone to send incoming calls to my voicemail. It was a feature I used at my other job with an intertel axxess system with my "high maintenance" users...you know the ones who take 10 minutes to describe a problem that could be handled in a single sentence.

Can I add another one...to reach voicemail we have to dial 3000...why doesn't our message button work? How can I tell my tech to program the message button to dial voicemail?

I find it safer to program every extension with a number when sending individual Ids just program those you want your main number to go out for with the appropriate last few digits (ie as many digits as the extn No)in cmd 1212. this may seem laborious but if your tech is any good at scripts you can prepare this in excel in no time, save it as a .csv file and import it into the matworx Mach script editor. In fact is probably easier this way than entering it manually even for a few. as for accessing the voicemail have you considered using speeddial keys to shortcut the proceedure.

To access the voicemail of a called party you must have a trunk behind you when pressing 9. This is a little weak when it comes to basic internal calls.
To overcome this I create a phantom station for all Dterms that want this feature (IPS you can have up to 1020 stations with R9) and forward that station all calls to VM.
E.g. For station 2015 there is a phantom 82015 built that is call forwared all calls to VM. The VM strips the leading 8 and places the caller into the mailbox. The users just have to remember that to go to, or transfer to someones VM just place the 8 in front of that persons number. No trunks required and the users station is not rung/disturbed in the process.
The VM programming to strip the 8 is available with Octel, Active Voice, Verbatim, and AVT that I know of. The leading digit can really be just about anything as long as the PBX numbering plan will accomidate it. I don't think you can use a * (star) if you have an Active Voice.
As for the VM key you can assign an F1098 key that when pressed will log the user into the VM. The other option is to place a personnal spd bin under a feature key that has the pilot of the VM assigned to it. This has the advantage over the F1098 in that you can press this key without going off hook.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have programmed a speed dial key for voicemail on many phones. But, hey, I have been accused of being anal retentive so I think the Message button should dial voicemail.

Thanks OZZIE for the tip...I only have eleven lines I want the DID to show up on.

Further update....
The tech came but was unable to do any of the program changes. He left stumped. He tried to do what grh959 suggested in
2) Call Redirect Feature. You will need a redirect button
CM 9000>ext, btn:F5012

CM 5122>tn:sta ( station = vm pilot)
but it didn't work.

He is going to call NEC. He seems to think the message button, and #2 & #3 and the quick transfer are all related to something in the original programming.

The DID he insists is an all or nothing. I only want eleven extensions to broadcast their DID and the remaining 80 or so the main church number (which is now being sent.) He says I have to call Bellsouth to stop that number from being sent out...any further help will be appreciated.

I believe you will find that if you are sending nothing the carrier fills in the blank with your LDN unless specifically told not to. Either way check with the carrier and once it is up to you to send it you can definitely set it on an individual basis. This can cause problems down the track though, so if you do this you have to remember that if you swap extension numbers in software the setting in 1212 stays with the len so you end up with extensions sending out the wrong info unless you correct it when swapping the numbers.

I would go ahead and set the DID numbers up for sending the CID info (only the stations you want to) and then send out the Main number or LDN with the others. Just my $.02...

First call re-direct.
The key to assign is an F5012. The destination is then assigned with CM 5118. CM 5118 is set on a tenant basis so make sure you check the tenant of the station (CM 1204) and the tenant of the trunk the call is coming in on (3001) and assign it to both tenants.
This feature is for trunk calls by the way so make sure you are not testing with an internal call. Also if all ports of the VM are busy the call will not redirect to the VM queue. If the VM is in another site (CCIS) the destination can not be a station forwarded all calls to the VM in the other site.
While the call is ringing press the CRD (F5012)key and then press the ringing line key to send it off to the destination assigned in CM 5118.

As for your ISDN.
You technician is wrong and should get certified on ISDN and if he is have the certification revoked.
You can program outgoing calling party information on a trunk or station basis.
On a trunk basis you use CM 3034 for each B channel trunk.
On a station basis (which, if set, over rides the trunk CPN) you simply use CM 1212 and CM 1213.
The carrier has the final say on presentation of the number. So even if you are sending the right stuff (can be verified by NEC remotely running Q931 trace on the MP) the carrier can turn around and present the main billing number or any other number they wish. 99% of the time this is an error in the CO which is deined till the cows come home but is suddenly corrected after a phone call to them explaining the issue. Once again if your tech is an NEC authorized dealer and is certified he can get the free evaluation of the layer 3 message proving the PBX is sending the right info, that is if it is programmed correctly. If it's not the NEC support will even show him how to do that.

Pave35 covers just about all of it but missed one thing. If you are using Cmd 1212 & 1213 you also need to set Cmd 5005 as 1213 pionts to this. ACtually the same applies in Cmd 3034.
