Hello,
I am about to build my first Pentium 4 computer. I've noticed that there are additional leads from the power supply. I see that there is a new square connector with 4 pins. There is a matching connector on the motherboard (ASUS P4B, case is Enlight). What all power leads do I need to connect from power supply to motherboard? There also seems to be a lead labeled "P6" that looks like one of the connectors from an old AT power supply (where there were two of these labeled "P5" and "P6"), although I do not see a spot for it on the motherboard. Also do I connect the familiar looking ATX power connector? Help.

wilbrian.

There is only one connector that goes from teh powersupply to the motherboard, it looks different that the rest, and has a little clip on the front of it. The rest are for hard drives, cd/disk drives

well wilbrian in p4 system there are two cords that needs to be attached to your motherboard.First one is in the shape of a rectangle with around 16-20 square pins and the second one is a 4 pin cord....thast it

hope it works for u

bye

Thanks mastguy I believe you are correct.

Actually, depending on your motherboard you can use all three connectors.

Main power to the board, auxiliary power for the processor and auxiliary power for PCI and AGP support.

I have a gigabyte GA-8ITXE mainboard and had to use all connectors. ***************************************
Party on, dudes!

Anyone tell me what the square 4pin connector is for (yellow and black)?
