I have built already my EXE under VFP 8.0 and have copied VFP8enu.DLL to WinSys folder. When I run the EXE in Windows 98, an error message says something like "library not supported".

Can anyone give me the correct steps in building projects to EXE that will run in Windows 98.

I have built already my EXE under VFP 8.0 and have copied VFP8enu.DLL to WinSys folder.

VFP8.0 can be run under Win98.

From the help file :You can create and distribute run-time applications for Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 or later, and Windows XP.

Just copying "VFP8enu.DLL" isn't enough though. There other runtime files required to be able to run a VFP application.

Take a look at this link:

I would suggest you use Installshield to create a setup that will include all the required runtime files and register the ones the require registration and not just copying them.

mican,

I have successfully created set up for VFP8 several times. You must include Visual C++ 7.0 Resource also. In addition, Windows components if you are using any.

All these options are provided in InstallShield which is bundled together with VFP8. If you use it you don't have to worry about specifying locations individually. InstallShield does it for itself.

Try out.
