Help! I'm going into CCVP and I need to know the least expensive way to get a computer together which will meet the hardware requirements for CUCM6.0. I was told that I could take most any computer and us it, as long as it had 2 GB of memory, a 72 GB hard drive, and a 2 GHz processor. I'll only be using this with a modest home lab.

Will this work? I already have CUCM 6.0 (and 4.3) on disks. I figured I'd use 6.0.

The installation disk for 6.X checks for the correct hardware type, memory and HD size. If it doesn't detect the correct HP or IBM platform, it will abort the install. I have seen some work arounds on this forum but have not tried any of them myself.

Thanks for the answer. So if I got, say, a Dell or Sony computer with the aforementioned hardware, CCM wouldn't work? One must use just those brands (generally speaking)?

You must have those exact model numbers of the Cisco supported servers. Check in this forum for links to Cisco supported servers or how to install it on VMWare. There have also some hacks mentioned but I haven't tried any of them.
