Build Booklet takes out text

Hi,

Whenever I use the Build Booklet feature in PM 7.0, it only imports the master pages, and the lower layers. Everything else in my publication, the text & images (generally layers 1 and 2), diasppear in the new publication.

I've tried making sure everything's within the gutters, because I've read on this forum that "build booklet" only works when everything's free of the gutters. Even after I've made sure about the gutters, my text and images still disappear.

(It says 6.x, but it;s the same for PM7)

Also, are you using multiple master pages or have grouped and/or locked elements? They can play tricks with Build Booklet.

Oh yes. I'm in big trouble, then! I have multiple master pages, grouped items, AND locked elements. Since I have a short document (16 pages), I decided to build the booklet manually myself by "selecting all," copying, then pasting into a new document the pages as they'd appear in a booklet. This proved faster than cropping items from gutters, unlocking, relocking, and generally trying to figure out where the culprit lies. Thanks for pointing me to the help page, though. Will keep it in mind for next time.

Oops!!! Best of luck with the manual re-ordering of the pages. I hope you used Layout - > Sort pages!
