I am searching for info regarding redundancy and Sendmail or Exim. My goal is to have both SMTP and POP or IMAP running on a redundant host. We use Suse 7.2 and HP Netserver LPR. If you have any URLs for these issues please post them. I want to setup a "cluster" but not for speed and I understand that Beowulf is not used for redundancy as stated in the Beowulf FAQ. ...............................
Thanks, Gary

Ultra Monkey is a project to build create load balanced and highly available services on a local area network using Open Source components on the Linux Operating System. At this stage the focus is on producing a scalable, highly available web farm, though the technology is easily expandable to other services such as email and FTP.

Ultra Monkey forms part of VAnessa -- VA Network Enhanced Scalable Server Architecture. Ultra Monkey is designed to work with other components of VAnessa, including Super Sparrow.

Perdition is allows users to connect to a content-free POP3 or IMAP4 server that will redirect them to their real POP3 or IMAP4 server. This enables mail retrieval for a domain to be split across multiple backend servers on a per user basis. This can also be used to as a POP3 or IMAP4 proxy especially in firewall applications. Perdition supports arbitrary library based map access to determine the server for a user. POSIX Regular Expression, GDBM, MySQL and PostgreSQL libraries ship with the distribution. ...............................
