Fault

Solution

Details
BUG1500 messages from switch. Caused by a call from another switch over ETSI QSIG from a dealer board type system hitting phantom on DCFW to BRI port.

In the above message we can see the extn 6323 and the number 1820. 1820 converts to t/n 24-0-8-0 which is a BRI extn 8701.
6323 is a phantom t/n on DCFW to 8701.
Calls arrive at the 3rd party switch to a analogue port which is on call forward on no reply to our switch xtn 6323. Extn 6323 is a phantom on DCFW to BRI extn 8701. As the call goes via a phantom this is badged as a 500 tyope analogue port, not a data port like the BRI. The meridian allows the call to pass ok to the BRI port but obviously does not like it so it outputs the BUG message.

Solution
If 6323 is removed and the replaced as an entry in the idc table, the calls proceed with no BUG messages.

In this case the cust required the call to go thru phantoms as he required the CFW information for his FAX server connected to the BRI port. (So he could tell who the fax was destined for).

I then captured the Q931 messaging to see if there was any call forward info from the originating switch as this info could have been used to discover the originally dialed number, but the far end switch never sent any call forward info.

- The 3rd field is the Call Register pointer (0059B752).
- The 4th field is the MAINPM and AUXPM (00000500) 05 is ringing state.
- The 5th field usually is the originating TN (0000821A) which is a bogus TN - just ignore it.
- The 6th field is the terminating TN (00001D88) and in this case, it is channel 29 18.
- The 13th field is the dialed DN (1687).
- The 14th field is digitload and digitunload (00000084).
- The 15th field is the outpulse digits backward (00007861).
Cause:
DTI loop 29 is programmed as COT and supervision is defined as YES causing Call register to get stuck against some of the channels on DTI loop 29 (COT did not have supervision capability).
