I am getting BSOD with HP Drivers files HPBFC2.DLL and HPRASDD.DLL I am running NT4.0 sp6a metaframe 1.8. The only help HP and Microsoft are is to say load the latest drivers and service packs, this has been done but the problem persists. Any ideas? Is switching to PS drivers an option I should consider?

The updated printer drivers should have solved your problem. Try using a plain HP Laserjet 4 driver. It is the most stable, and it solved my BSOD problems on our Citrix server. If that doesn't work, you may want to consider updating to Windows 2000 server. It supports more printers. I haven't had any print driver problems since upgrading.

I had multiple bsods - including some amazing ones where there would be some wild patterns of 0's and 1's. I removed any printer driver that did not specifically come on the NT4.0 TSE cd and set those printers to emulate an HP LaserJet 4 - or something very basic. My problem cleared up (knock on wood). Of course, now my users aren't very happy with their printing options, but such is the price of fame...

We had some major problems with HP printer drivers when we first installed Citrix...since then we have been very careful when purchasing printers.....

The major problem at our site was with the Laserjet6 driver, we never managed to overcome the problem and as Ih8pcs says - keep it simple with Laserjet4 drivers...

We also try and use PS drivers if possible....

Thanks for everyone’s input I’ve now almost got the go ahead to roll back to LaserJet 4 drivers. Does anyone know what functionally I will lose in doing so; the printers currently in use are a mixture of 4000TN and 4050TN. I am aware I will lose the 3rd tray recognition although the printer will still print from the 3rd tray if the other trays are empty. What else should I know?

Thanking you all in advance.

We are running both these printers with their respective PS drivers....???

I checked to see if these dll's were present on our servers and they're not....???? R U sure they are HP....??? Just a thought....!!!!

Also are you seeing any other errors in your Event Logs before the servers crash with the BSOD..???
