How long did it take you to study for the exam? Which books did you use? Do you have your own lab or did you use simulators.?

Thanks

Jon

I took the book from Cisco press.
And some lab simulations on the cisco site
Actually the Testking question that i prepare from them , were ( around 15 ) on the exam.
So i am sujest to read all the testking question before the ther real exam. the latest version of them is 33.

Good luck

Congratulations!! You made it. You have three more to go and you will be done. I took the test about two months ago and fail it. I scored 721. I am planning on retaking it in three weeks. Do you know what's the passing score. I believe is like 760, is that true?
How many simulation questions did you have on the test? Please let me know. Thanks

Yes , the pass score is 760.
I had two simulation question, 1) Redistribution between EIGRP and ISIS , 2) OSPF in the multi area , witj area x no-summary.

Good Luck farana75.

Actually the scoring I think is based on a percentile system. There is no set passing score - although it is around the mark mentioned above but do not let anyone fool you. The percentile is based on how many people appeared and how many of them passed prior to your taking the exam in a 3 or 5 day period.

i am interested in taking the CCNA and then CCVP Bootcamp courses? I have looked up several schools on the net recently and have only found two that I feel are trustworthy. They are Unitek in Cali and The Academy in Miami, Florida. I am wondering if anyone has heard of these schools or has another suggestion. Thanks.

amprez,

Do you have a strong background in computers and networking already?

I had a student who was an electrician and was changing careers, he went to a boot camp and then passed the CCNA. All he really understood about networking was what he crammed in during the 10 day boot camp.

After 3 interviews in which he was told to come back when he was not a “paper” CCNA, he spent 9 months doing labs and learning all aspects of networking.

I get people who call everyday – they want to get CCNA as fast as possible and make tons of money, and they do not know a floppy from a motherboard.

Boot camps cost lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, they are great for some if you already have a very strong understanding of the subject, money to burn and just need a little help to pass the exam.

I have never used them, for what they charge you can buy lots of books, CBTs, sims and other study stuff and still have money left over.

Having a CCNA or CCNP will help get you the interview; it will not get you the job!

To get the job you have got to know your stuff inside and out, most places will put you through a technical interview and hands on test, especially for CCNP unless you are coming from a previous position as a CCNP.

I do not know anything about the 2 boots you listed, I do have several friends that did others for about $4,000 for MCSE and all they did was go over Test Kings all day. And yes, they became 2 more "paper" MCSEs.

I will say that I have heard GREAT things on the boot camps for CCIE.

Hope this helps!
