I am using a brush that came with Illustrator 10 called dry ink 2, which seems to be slighlty transparent. I would prefer this brush to solid. I have tried changing the transparency level, but this is already set to 100%. Any suggestions??

The "transparency" of the brush is predetermined by the maker. To change the "transparency" you'll have to paint a short path with the brush. Select the path you just made. Go to the Object menu and select expand. Now you can go to the transparency palate and change the transparency of the selection. Then save it as a new brush.

Thanks for your response.

Unfortunatly when I paint the path and select it, EXPAND is not available for selection in the OBJECT menu, only EXPAND APPERENCE. I have tried clicking this which then allows EXPAND to be selected but still makes no difference to the Transparency.

Any thoughts??

If you drag out the brush, and ungroup several times then the overprint feature dissapers. It has nothing to do with tranperacy. It worked for me

Good luck
