Just wondering if it was possible to browse a client's local disk from the terminal server. I think i grasp how it's done via RTP, but the ICA protocol seems a little different.

I've gone under the network neighborhood and expanded the Client Network, but it only lists clients on RTP sessions.

Thanks guys!

You can attach the clients drive in User mangler or AD and in Citrix Configuratio program. If you have not re-mapped the drive it will be V: if you have it will be C:

I don't want to map it so they can see the drive... that's set by default.

I want to map their drive so i can administer their local files. I've looked in AD, but this doesn't seem to be an option.

To better explain what you are looking for can you tell us what you do with RDP, Since you grasp how it is done there. I am sure we can tell you how ICA would do an equivilent of RDP.

We have a problem with one of our users installing shareware apps on their workstation. The user uses the corporate Citrix system to run their work related apps. We figured we could browse the folders on his local drive (client c$) and look for problem software.

I've been searching through the boards and noticed that administrators on the citrix server can expand the 'Client Network' and see the local C$ drives of each citrix user connected to that server.

If this was the case on our server it would be perfect. We would just find the user, double click on the drive and browse away (at the console... no need for RDP). The issue is that the client's local c drive is not listed here, as is the case with any of our users.

Is this a terminal services issue or a citrix issue?

Are you running a Windows domain with operating systems newer than NT4.0 WS? If so just use a UNC path into the PC via the computer name and the default hidden share example: \\PCname\C$ and scan the Program Files Directory. If that doesnt work use remote desktop.
