or should I had said Reinstalling?
Will reinstalling cause some file lost? Thanks

carrr,
if you read my question it says:
'I have ActiveX failure.'
So I know what type of problem my IE having. Your links do not address it.
'Was suggested I reload browser. Is it safe?'
I will reload browser if someone will suggest it was safe and maybe something else.

Thanks

What I provided you was an answer to both your question and dilemma.

The IEFix program, desgined by a Microfsoft MVP, can remedy common maladies.

That failing, the instructions on Doug Knox's page (yet another Microsoft MVP) show you how to properly reinstall.

Reloading the browser is perfectly safe...if you do it right.

I'll try to do it right. I had never done it before so I was looking for a possible 'damage warning'. Now I have your vote 'for' reloading so I am off to do it.
Thank you much, my regards

No problem.
Repair is relatively painless.
Problems arise, however, when one tries to actually uninstall IE, as XP and IE are extremely intertwined and major havoc can result.

I hope the Doug Knox link resolves your problems.
