I cannot get my citrix client to launch as a defined helper application on OS X when I click on a link with an 'ica' file extension. Can someone point me in the right direction on this? TIA.
Here are the details:
I have a page with a link that contains the href:
What I expect to happen is the browser (any) to launch the application associated with the file extension '.ica' which in this case is the Citrix client. This works fine in the browsers I tried on Windows XP. However, on all browsers I've tried on OS X it simply displays the '.ica' file as text in the browser window.
IE on OS X already has it defined, I added it to Netscape and Safari does not have anyway, I can find, to set helper applications. The fact that it immediately displays the file in the browser window (shouldn't it really try to download the file?) suggests to me that there is no attempt, by the browsers, to associate the file extension in the URL with an application.
