How can I find out which machines claim to be browse masters or try to become browse masters - are there any known issues with W2K Pro client machines in a NT4 server environment with regards to Browsers

You could use browmon to find out which PC is the current browse master. Or browstat from the resource kit....


As far as issues go, the NT4 servers would take precedence in an election over the 2K Pro PCs. If you are concerned about controlling which PCs participate in the election process, take a look at the following....
