Hello alltogether,

how can I browse all objects (or Queues) of a Queue Manager without knowing their names with ActiveX?

I haven't found any object (collection?!) holding the objects.

Or do you HAVE to know the names and it is impossible with ActiveX?

Thank you!

Snoopy

Not sure about ActiveX but with VB.Net I issue a PCF command and process the output from this. Of course this doesn't work on a z/OS platform.

I 'assume' ActiveX could do the same sort of thing?

Hi Kevin! Thx for the hint..
Could you post an example on how you solved it with .NET?

and another question:
With the Connect Method of the MQSession Object I can conenct to a Queue Manager locally. Can I connect to a remote Queue Manager too? I haven't found a parameter for this method to set a conection string...

Greetings
Snoopy

The same code that you use to connect locally to a queue manager should be able to run against a client queue manager. You just need to make sure that you set the MQSERVER variable (on Windows) or have a channel table set up...or set the environment variable with the code itself.

What platforms are you using? There is no client support for z/OS without an additional product (MQSeries Client Attach Facility)

The PCF code I use is probably too large to post here, however, if you garab a look at the manual called "Using .Net" (Google search for GC34-6328). That is a pretty good book. Ther eis a generic MQ manual too called "Programmable System Management" (SC33-1428) that you may find useful.
